A Mahwah mother and her 2-year-old son are expected to survive after they were hit Thursday morning in Allendale by a car in front of a wine store, authorities said.
The 42-year-old woman was holding her child and walking in the crosswalk near the Allendale Wine Shoppe on West Allendale Avenue at 9:18 a.m., police Detective Michael Dillon said when a car struck them.
The driver was not related to the mother or child, Dillon said.
Both the mother and child were taken to a local hospital and are expected to survive, Dillon said.
